Hello! We are Von, Lynda, Ivy and Lyric McCommons, a family vocal Quartet dedicated to serving the Lord through the gift of music. We have just recently began transforming into a quartet with the addition of our oldest daughter Ivy. We love to sing His praises and to be used by the Holy Spirit to draw people into the presence of God.

Let me introduce ourselves by sharing a little of who we are and where we come from:

Born in Georgetown Ohio, Lynda spent her early years living in the Cincinnati area, where she sang her first duet at age eight with her sister Cindi in the Nazerene church her grandfather pastored. Lynda spent her teenage years in Indianapolis, Indiana where she could always be heard singing along with her favorite records. Starting her professional vocal career at age eighteen, she was hired as a vocalist/ dancer in the traveling Las Vegas style show group Starshine. I grew up in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania where I sang my first solo in church at age five, and began my professional career at the age of fifteen with my musical family's band, "Loretta Ann and The Silvertones" as a drummer. I met the love of my life in 1976 when I flew to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to audition for a bass player position with "Starshine".  It wasn't long before Lynda and I fell in love and set out on a life long adventure together. We traveled 48 weeks a year with various dance and show bands until 1984 when we returned to Western Pa, to be married, start a family and to form the country rock band "Bullroper". "Bullroper" enjoyed much local success recording our first  record and opening shows for headliners such as "Alabama", "The Judds" and "The Charlie Daniels Band" to name a few. At the same time the family grew to Von, Lynda, Julian, Ivy and Lyric. It was a season of excitement and joy, but also of heartache and testing. One that would lead to a new season of priorities and spiritual awakening!

After all the years of pursuing our careers and glorifying ourselves with the talents that God had really given us, He finally got our attention in 1990. Shortly after Lyric was born in November of 1989, she almost died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome or SIDS.  It was at that point that Lynda, and then myself realized that the ladder to success we had been climbing was set against the wrong wall! The Lord was calling us out of the world and into fellowship with Him. Soon afterward we gave our hearts, our family and our musical gifts to The Lord Jesus Christ and became active members of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Slippery Rock, PA. We will forever praise The Lord!
